Today, every other person suffers from stress. Whether it is positive stress, such
as buying a house, getting married, graduating from university, starting a new job
or career path, and starting a family, or negative stress, such as high demanding
work hours, cost of living crisis, and imbalance of mental health and well-being.
Also, a lot of people are not aware they are under negative stress until they suffer
some form of stress-related illness. These causes could be fear of the unknown because we are not in control of the outcome; another is anxiety, anger, and frustration. These are all feelings that can lead to anger, frustration, and sadness.
Before we get into how these treatments can help with stress management, we
need to get to the root of what is causing us to be living in a world full of stress. The result is that this bag of fear can lead to muscle tension and underlying
disease within the body.

How does going to the spa help with stress, and what treatments are available to
help those who need help with stress management?
There are a wide variety of treatments within a spa that are accessible to serve
those who need stress relief, such as meditation, massage, facials, Ayurveda
spa therapies, and health and wellness coaching.
Going to the spa and having spa treatments is one of the best ways to
incorporate self-care, self-love, and feeling nurtured. Most people, when they are
stressed out, tend to have back, neck and shoulder pain. Having various
treatments can help the client know the root of their stress. Having a massage is
beneficial for not only relaxing our muscles and relieving muscle tension but also
stimulates or suppresses the nervous system, increases blood and lymph
circulation, helping us to reconnect with our mind-body system, helping to reduce
stress, and finally improving ourselves.

I am Njeri Reece, an experienced massage therapist who has been in the spa
industry for over 14 years.
Four years ago, I decided to expand my journey into becoming a health coach, meditation teacher, and Ayurveda therapist in order to understand not only myself but also others.
My journey to India included my studies as a health and wellness coach as well
as becoming a certified Ayurveda therapist. I am able, through my studies, experiences, and certifications, to incorporate my spa treatments tailored to your personal needs.
My meditation certification has also allowed me to implement meditation in my
treatments. I am sharing my personal healing journey on how my healing lead me to become a health coach and meditation teacher. Emotional relief is the best healing method , along with having a spa treatment to gain the ultimate healing experience. For instance, I suffered from anger for four years after losing a parent and being isolated from family and friends after a year of losing a parent when the pandemic occurred. During this period, I used meditation as a tool along with my strong spiritual faith and practices to help heal internally. However, I did heal, but my body held the emotions of anger and
frustration, which caused me to be not only restricted from releasing pain within
my body but also felt restricted by the circumstances within my life. Since the
I could not change the external environment, such as losing a parent and
being isolated from friends and family, I used meditation as a tool to reconnect
internally so that no one knew what I was going through, and this
showed not only myself but others how strong, kind, loving, peaceful soul I was to
the core. The final stage was emotionally relieving the pain
from the body to feel the true effects of healing . A quote from the bible "Be not afraid, only believe,"Mark 5: 36. In others, if you believe that you are healed even without
seeing the results others want to see and yourself, then you are healed.

Ayurveda spa treatments can also be used to not only help with stress but also balances our dosha and help to maximise the benefit of emotional healing. Ayurveda also looks at the root cause of stress and disease within our bodies. Today, various Western doctors are working alongside Ayurvedic doctors to help
patients to have better outcomes for their health. Also, Ayurvedic doctors work with Ayurvedic spa therapists using panchakarma to detoxify the body by prescribing Ayurvedic treatments to balance the dosha.
Today, various retreats, especially in India, are booked months in advance for
panchakarma. The treatments for this range from 7 days, 14 days, and 21 days.
This depends on the clients time to have the panchakarma, which is very
effective. There are also other spas and wellness retreats around the world that offer this
as a service. Ayurveda believes in the practice of self-care and incorporating mind, body, soul, and spirit; therefore, this is a conscious-based modality where you become more
aware and in tune with being.
Overall, going to the spa is beneficial for us, especially when self-care is
essential to our overall well-being. If we are unable to take care of ourselves, we
are unable to take care of others. Think of your next spa day as taking an adult
time-out, like a child taking a time-out to have a nap. We need this to reconnect
with ourselves to be more productive in taking care of not only ourselves but
others.
